A collision led to CE LAJEADENSE RS getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Glauco Paranaense hit a great ball. In the 6th minute Glauco Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luiz Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dário Schmidt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Lauro Linhares made a huge save. Lauro Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basílio Moura in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lauro Linhares, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pedro Luiz Trevisan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The CE LAJEADENSE RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 29 minutes into the match, FC St. Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Glauco Paranaense came free, but Pedro Luiz Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Edmílson Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC St. Pauli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmílson Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the FC St. Pauli defense, Eliézer Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Luiz Trevisan. The FC St. Pauli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Luiz Trevisan should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute Eliézer Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luiz Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Glauco Paranaense, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 52 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Pedro Luiz Trevisan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Glauco Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho das Neves hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Edmílson Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmílson Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes FC St. Pauli got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Toscano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer Ramos in the 65th minute of play forced FC St. Pauli's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caio Ramos during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Glauco Paranaense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Luiz Trevisan came out and tried to block the shot, but Glauco Paranaense slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco Paranaense got free with Pedro Luiz Trevisan in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oséias Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Linhares having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Trevisan was a little too slow when Eliézer Ramos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 0-8. Chants of CE LAJEADENSE RS echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FC St. Pauli had held the ball for most of the match.
