In the 25th minute Abelardo Ledesma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Pancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Avellaneda, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute, Marco Senio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the game, Jacobo Cucao was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Lorenzo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kaplan the free kick. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for San Lorenzo! Alfredo Pancho had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Lucio Soin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Kaplan's Abelardo Ledesma got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florencio Guerau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucio Soin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Pancho having to interfere. Kaplan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 82nd minute, San Lorenzo's Jacobo Cucao seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacobo Cucao the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of San Lorenzo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacobo Cucao had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Jacobo Cucao kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match.
