Albino Orlanda kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 4 played minutes NEWELL´S OLD BOYS got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Fernendo. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Danilo Frascuelo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Efrain Reyes, made in the 6th minute of the game. ViCeNzA's Bartolo Bazkoare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Goiz in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Baldomiro Berriotxoa made a precise shot to the right of Ramon Calvino. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when ViCeNzA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Lia didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Marciano Austin from long distance, 20 minutes into the match, got Bartolo Bazkoare's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 21st match minute, ViCeNzA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Raebert to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Albino Orlanda got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Emiliano Quinito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramon Calvino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Emiliano Quinito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ramon Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gabriel Raebert fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ViCeNzA's protests and gave Gabriel Raebert a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes NEWELL´S OLD BOYS got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Caitano. Ramon Calvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomiro Berriotxoa in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Erasmo Fernendo hit a great ball. After 44 minutes, Danilo Frascuelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS and the ViCeNzA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ViCeNzA booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Frascuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Baldomiro Berriotxoa put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ramon Calvino. After the first half ViCeNzA were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baldomiro Berriotxoa was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Baldomiro Berriotxoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Berriotxoa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ramon Calvino. Baldomiro Berriotxoa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Emiliano Quinito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Ramon Calvino made a huge save. Ramon Calvino was a little too slow when Baldomiro Berriotxoa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-5. Erasmo Fernendo took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bartolo Bazkoare. Bartolo Bazkoare dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Ramon Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Berriotxoa in the 73rd minute of play. Bartolo Bazkoare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Fernendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramon Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomiro Berriotxoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, ViCeNzA's Baldomiro Berriotxoa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ramon Calvino. Ramon Calvino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Emiliano Quinito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ramon Calvino made a huge save. Amancio Magdaleno kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Baldomiro Berriotxoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ViCeNzA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
