Maximiliano Astudillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julián Maidana in the 7th minute of the match. Bernabe Rolado charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernabe Rolado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amado Estavans short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Mario Cuenca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 17 minutes into the game, Bernabe Rolado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Maximiliano Astudillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to SAN MARTIN F.C. getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Abelardo Roland hit a great ball. Amado Estavan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Mario Cuenca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mauricio Ruisko's late challenge caught a SAN MARTIN F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauricio Ruisko helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, TALLERES's Mauricio Ruisko got a free kick in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Chago in the 46th minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Mario Cuenca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half TALLERES were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abelardo Roland made a kick off. During the 50th minute of the match Bernabe Rolado completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bernabe Rolado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 51st minute, Bernabe Rolado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Abelardo Roland came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the SAN MARTIN F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Roland couldn't finish the play. The coaching staff of TALLERES protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cesar Xacintu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
