Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Samuel Farias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Frantzes in the 12th minute of play. Dalmacio Cisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Deportivo Álvarez's Paulo Maiorga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Raimundo Quexal. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. The supporters of Los Golosos booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Ereinotz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Los Golosos's Simon Jurgi got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Raimundo Quexal made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Guillermo Manilan sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Los Golosos getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. The supporters of Club Deportivo Álvarez booed when Los Golosos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Beat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Farias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Frantzes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Maiorga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raimundo Quexal came out and tried to block the shot, but Paulo Maiorga slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 39th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domingos Oihan during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Los Golosos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Oihan to maneuver through the defense. If Domingos Oihan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Salvador Frantzes was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Salvador Frantzes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Golosos's supporters rose to their feet, but Salvador Frantzes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Farias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the game, Club Deportivo Álvarez's Fernando Guib nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Quexal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Saverio Elivareo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Raimundo Quexal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristo Beat hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Álvarez's zone, Salvador Frantzes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Farias came out of the goal and Salvador Frantzes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cristo Beat came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Los Golosos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Beat couldn't finish the play. Domingos Oihan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Los Golosos booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Manilan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Romildo in the 84th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Álvarez's goalkeeper Samuel Farias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristo Beat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Deportivo Álvarez fans cheered their team off the field, for while Los Golosos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
