When Flavio Lauren fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Florida Gulf Coast's protests and gave Flavio Lauren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Diego Hori sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Florida Gulf Coast's Jeremias Guifre didn't even have to move. With a little luck, Florida Gulf Coast's Jeremias Guifre got control of the ball when Evelio Bladi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florida Gulf Coast's Arsenio Emenon suffered a concussion after 8 minutes and had to leave the field. Carlos Cristofor charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Cristofor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Florida Gulf Coast made a substitution. Maximino Afonso replaced Arsenio Emenon. Jeronimo Cordarin struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Jeremias Guifre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El ABUELO FC. After a rather tough play, Florida Gulf Coast's Flavio Lauren got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Karlo in the 24th minute of play forced El ABUELO FC's goalkeeper Ruperto Urre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Florida Gulf Coast booed when El ABUELO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Bermund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruperto Urre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Nazario in the 26th minute of the match. With 31 minutes on the clock, Conrado Iliana commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 30th minute, one of Florida Gulf Coast:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Florida Gulf Coast. Florida Gulf Coast:s Jeremias Guifre showed great skill when he stopped Evelio Bladi:s penalty. If Gordon Nazario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeronimo Cordarin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jeremias Guifre made a huge save. El ABUELO FC's Denis Guter suffered a concussion in the 40th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Flavio Lauren was shown his second yellow card after 40 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 42nd match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Lauren to maneuver through the defense. Jeremias Guifre was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evelio Bladi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabio Jerico was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Ganix to maneuver through the defense. Luisito Cesaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Guifre having to interfere. Jeronimo Cordarin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florida Gulf Coast's Jeremias Guifre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Cesaro in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Eli to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute Evelio Bladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Guifre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florida Gulf Coast's Jeremias Guifre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Cesaro in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, El ABUELO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Jerico came free, but Ruperto Urre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremias Guifre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeronimo Cordarin in the 86th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Blas Lauro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El ABUELO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blas Lauro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florida Gulf Coast's Jeremias Guifre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Bladi in the 88th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Ganix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Florida Gulf Coast's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El ABUELO FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Florida Gulf Coast's Rigoberto Ganix got a free kick in the 89th minute. A collision led to Florida Gulf Coast getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Rigoberto Ganix hit a great ball.
