The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gabriel Huly charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Huly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Despidida AFC booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmacio Cisco kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. If Faustino Gaztea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Club Deportivo Álvarez getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Baltasar Ladio hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Jorrin in the 12th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Álvarez's goalkeeper Samuel Farias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saverio Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 played minutes Despidida AFC got a freekick which was hit by Candido Kaxen. Paulo Maiorga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Clodoveo Tab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 22 minutes on the clock, Prospero Eudoxio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Despidida AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Clodoveo Tab had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Saverio Elivareo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Candido Kaxen during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Candido Kaxen to maneuver through the defense. Baltasar Ladio hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Armando Peruanton hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Guillermo Manilan might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clodoveo Tab. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guillermo Manilan ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saverio Elivareo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clodoveo Tab saved Despidida AFC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Despidida AFC's Natalio Kiliz got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Manilan was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute Leonel Maureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Farias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Elpidio Jorrin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baltasar Ladio kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute of the match Faustino Gaztea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Farias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Leonel Maureo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 87 minutes of play, Despidida AFC's Natalio Kiliz made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Farias was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Club Deportivo Álvarez booed when Despidida AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elpidio Jorrin didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Despidida AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Deportivo Álvarez.
