Patagonia booed when Ilulea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marciano Claris didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ilulea FC's Matias Sandalio got a free kick in the 27th minute. Hernan Bermudez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jose Chilavert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ilulea FC's Valentin Lesardo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Jose Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saverio Galoer, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hernan Ruy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute of the match Marco Llorienzo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eusebio Marz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 52 minutes, Baltasar Kismi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Social y Dep. Patagonia and the Ilulea FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Social y Dep. Patagonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltasar Kismi to maneuver through the defense. Eusebio Marz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Lesardo in the 57th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Saverio Galoer took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Jose Chilavert to make any attempt to save it. In the 64th minute Valentin Lesardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Menno Zuurman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hernan Bermudez during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 played minutes Social y Dep. Patagonia got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Bermudez.
