Vampiros Aztecas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. Peñarol the free kick. In the 5th minute Luis Neira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Orzaize saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darien Gutiérrez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Jeremias Orzaize made a huge save. 11 minutes into the game, Luis Neira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A. Peñarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vampiros Aztecas the free kick. After 12 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Luis Neira. Isidro Fariña hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Ruben Garin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Enzo Baracaldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuel Benavente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jeremias Orzaize tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Darien Gutiérrez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Orzaize was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The referee gave C.A. Peñarol a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Samuel Benavente, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vampiros Aztecas's Jeremias Orzaize. 4-0. Epifanio Guillerme hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The wind increased when Melchor Hori made the kick off in the second half. Ruben Garin's late challenge caught a C.A. Peñarol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruben Garin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Ruben Garin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Hori in the 64th minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Enzo Baracaldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to C.A. Peñarol getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Silviano Verdejo hit a great ball. A collision led to Vampiros Aztecas getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Faustino Lando hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Vampiros Aztecas's Joaquin Aznar got a free kick in the 79th minute. If Luis Neira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes Vampiros Aztecas got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Rik. Luis Neira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeremias Orzaize took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darien Gutiérrez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.A. Peñarol fully deserved thier win.
