Rapsodas Red Devils FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Rosario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jerrod Hope stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Rosario's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Jerrod Hope got control of the ball when Luciano Rosario tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Jerrod Hope had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berenguer Gostioz. Luciano Zayas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Graham, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Francisco Graham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Zayas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilfred Fleming hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Graham in the 40th minute of play forced Rapsodas Red Devils FC's goalkeeper Luciano Zayas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luciano Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jerrod Hope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 minutes of play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Wilfred Fleming made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luciano Zayas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Graham to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Rapsodas Red Devils FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Graham came free, but Luciano Zayas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sport Lisboa e Benfica eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
