The supporters of San Pablo FC booed when Varennes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenton Irwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eugene Levine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Ostadar in the 24th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Rodrigo Ostadar put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eugene Levine. In the 27th minute, Brenton Carrasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anier Izotz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Rodrigo Ostadar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Eugene Levine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Varennes's Brenton Carrasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Florian made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Francisco Florian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gale Laliberté went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Francisco Florian was a little too slow when Gale Laliberté got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 5-1. After a rather tough play, San Pablo FC's Benicio Hartz got a free kick in the 49th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.
