Danilo Viscarra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Silvano Benat made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Quijada in the 13th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silvano Benat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Jonathan Lore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hermosillo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GuateFortín the free kick. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Hermosillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Lore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvano Benat was a little too slow when Marcelo Quijada got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. Ruben Toledano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Silvano Benat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Hermosillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Havier. After 27 minutes of play, Hermosillo FC's Ivan Toli made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jose Miguel Marin was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Efren Viscarra hit a great ball. Ivan Toli took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jose Miguel Marin. Jose Miguel Marin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Silvano Benat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franklin Henriquez in the 42nd minute. After the first half Hermosillo FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelo Quijada made a kick off. Angelo Constancio kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 56 played minutes, GuateFortín's Marcelo Quijada shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvano Benat came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GuateFortín reached it. Silvano Benat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Viscarra in the 58th minute of the match. After 61 played minutes, GuateFortín's Elias Talia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvano Benat came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Hermosillo FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
