The supporters of ORIZABA F.C. booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zunbeltz Inchaurdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Mogel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danilo Villafane. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ubaldo Mogel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Danilo Villafane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Macias, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Danilo Villafane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Erasto. Eugenio Honrio kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. If Vera Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan-Alfredo Guceño made a kick off.
