Spectators: 162 (Terracing: 122, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Phil Craft made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when American Airlines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph McGuire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heriberto Conley's late challenge caught a Club Deportes Santa Cruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heriberto Conley helped the player get up and apologised. Heriberto Conley hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Anthony Shields made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mercurio Pasos in the 14th minute of play. Jorge Vicente Basay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Titus Guillory, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Raimundo Backhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. American Airlines's Anthony Shields played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Gana in the 23rd minute of play. Heriberto Conley hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Abel Gana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Titus Guillory in the 29th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Jorge Vicente Basay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Club Deportes Santa Cruz getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Raimundo Backhouse hit a great ball. In the 38th match minute, American Airlines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Conley to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Vicente Basay came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by American Airlines's Titus Guillory. But to his dismay, Titus Guillory quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sebastián Garfias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

52 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Gana came free, but Anthony Shields reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Gana came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Anthony Shields could save by the left post. In the 56th minute, Iván Dayson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Abel Gana got a free kick in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Gana in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anthony Shields saved American Airlines from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Raimundo Backhouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Vicente Basay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heriberto Conley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Gana in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anthony Shields prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Abel Gana came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Gana couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, American Airlines's Heriberto Conley got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 88th minute Abel Gana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Shields showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Gana, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Anthony Shields made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abel Gana in the 95th minute. American Airlines's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
