Côme Gato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Glen Goode tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darnell Watts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodosio Cerda having to interfere. Teodosio Cerda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Gunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Rufo got free with Glen Goode in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Gerónimo Alonso fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportes Santa Cruz's protests and gave Gerónimo Alonso a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Gerónimo Alonso. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Gerónimo Alonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerónimo Alonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Glen Goode breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aaron Gunn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domenic Ring hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Teodosio Pimentel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Glen Goode came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Deportes Santa Cruz reached it. After having played for 37 minutes, Darnell Watts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The wind increased when Côme Gato made the kick off in the second half. Jon-Ander Huaiquipan hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Ezra Dickey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Rufo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Goode having to interfere. If Jaime Rufo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Raimundo Backhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brooklyn SC's Glen Goode played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Côme Gato in the 68th minute of play. A collision led to Brooklyn SC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Randall Haynes hit a great ball. Jaime Rufo struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Glen Goode didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Santa Cruz. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darnell Watts got free with Teodosio Cerda in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportes Santa Cruz's zone, Titus Holland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodosio Cerda came out of the goal and Titus Holland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Raimundo Backhouse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Glen Goode. Brooklyn SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raimundo Backhouse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 96th match minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerónimo Alonso to maneuver through the defense. If Pascal Dailey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
