With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesar Remigio in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcell Yashin saved Atletico de la Rosa CF from getting behind. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrico Barreneche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesar Remigio in the 11th minute of play forced Atletico de la Rosa CF's goalkeeper Marcell Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Lyons's Cesar Remigio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcell Yashin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Luisito Quinten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fortunato Miner in the 15th minute. After a rather tough play, Lyons's Ruperto Salvadore got a free kick in the 34th minute. Enrico Barreneche might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisito Quinten. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrico Barreneche ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Atletico de la Rosa CF's Luisito Quinten threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enrico Barreneche, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 39th minute Enrico Barreneche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
