Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bo Ekström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andréas Linquist having to interfere. In the 6th minute Virgiliu Doroftei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Campodónico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Campodónico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 7th minute of play. Grêmio FBPA's Geovanildo Zago quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ludvig Nyqvist, made in the 12th minute of the game. 13 minutes into the match, Mockfjärd's goal looked a bit too open when Virgiliu Doroftei came free, but Pablo Campodónico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16thth minute of the game Virgiliu Doroftei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mockfjärd's Pablo Campodónico was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute, Virgiliu Doroftei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio FBPA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pablo Campodónico narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute of the match Grêmio FBPA got a corner. Mockfjärd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stayko Vakareliyski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pablo Campodónico didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgiliu Doroftei went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 31st minute of play forced Mockfjärd's goalkeeper Pablo Campodónico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mockfjärd's goalkeeper Pablo Campodónico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mockfjärd's zone, Virgiliu Doroftei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pablo Campodónico came out of the goal and Virgiliu Doroftei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ludvig Nyqvist made in the 39th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Bo Ekström however managed to control. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarten Mur in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgiliu Doroftei to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the game, Virgiliu Doroftei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Pablo Campodónico was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei got a free kick in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Virgiliu Doroftei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgiliu Doroftei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pablo Campodónico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pablo Campodónico came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei. But to his dismay, Virgiliu Doroftei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 72nd minute Grêmio FBPA were awarded a corner. Stayko Vakareliyski went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Manfredo Pombal advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-5 in the 72nd minute. Virgiliu Doroftei received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pablo Campodónico came out and tried to block the shot, but Virgiliu Doroftei slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 77th minute. A collision led to Mockfjärd getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nils-Åke Hedvall hit a great ball. Pablo Campodónico was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Stayko Vakareliyski. The crowd rose to their feet as Virgiliu Doroftei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pablo Campodónico. That made the score 0-7 in the 85 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Virgiliu Doroftei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo Campodónico was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Grêmio FBPA were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Mockfjärd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stayko Vakareliyski took the corner. Jâninho Melo hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Pablo Campodónico came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei. But to his dismay, Virgiliu Doroftei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8.
