Latif Al Fakir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ali Modrić's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Ali Modrić put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Latif Al Fakir. Galatasaray SK's Eric Oltean suffered a concussion after 11 minutes and had to leave the field. 11 minutes into the game, Clemente Emesto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guiñazú FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray SK the free kick. Clemente Emesto hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Galatasaray SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Modrić came free, but Latif Al Fakir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Galatasaray SK getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Aleksey Martynov hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Galatasaray SK's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Millan came free, but Latif Al Fakir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Hagi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Armando Monico made a huge save. Galatasaray SK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valeriy Chernetsov in the 47th minute. The corner ended in Mark Pylev almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guiñazú FC's Armando Monico did a great save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ali Modrić to make the kick off. Ali Modrić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Galatasaray SK booed when Guiñazú FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Ostots didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Hagi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Galatasaray SK's Latif Al Fakir got control of the ball when Ali Modrić tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guiñazú FC's Ali Modrić was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Latif Al Fakir in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 76th match minute, Guiñazú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Emesto to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Ali Modrić reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Latif Al Fakir. The goal made the score 1-3. Latif Al Fakir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Modrić in the 83rd minute of play. Ermegildo Rivero hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Mark Pylev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Monico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Mark Pylev left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galatasaray SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
