A collision led to Savage Hippo getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Owen Tomaszewski hit a great ball. Esteve Unai charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteve Unai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 22 minutes into the match, NeW York CitY CopS's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Grabert came free, but Venancio Fortun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venancio Fortun was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Edwin Grabert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edwin Grabert really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The supporters of Savage Hippo booed when NeW York CitY CopS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Cristofol didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Edwin Grabert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Venancio Fortun, 2-0. With a little luck, NeW York CitY CopS's Venancio Fortun got control of the ball when Edwin Grabert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Venancio Fortun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saulius Pilipavičius in the 41st minute of the match. Vilmantas Magdišauskas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Venancio Fortun made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafin Mark stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Cornelio Cristofol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NeW York CitY CopS and the Savage Hippo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Venancio Fortun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Grabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Venancio Fortun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Grabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venancio Fortun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Grabert in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Savage Hippo's Edwin Grabert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Venancio Fortun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Venancio Fortun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Bjurström in the 82nd minute of play. Savage Hippo's Bengt-Arne Askstedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Savage Hippo from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Esteve Unai in the 86th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Savage Hippo's Saulius Pilipavičius. When Edwin Grabert came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Savage Hippo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edwin Grabert couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Edwin Grabert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Savage Hippo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. There was no doubt that Savage Hippo were the better team. Savage Hippo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
