Johan Gelin was slow to take the kick. During this time Stat Veritas FC's players had a chance to rest. Mauricio Erramun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute, Johan Gelin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A wasted opportunity for Stat Veritas FC. 41 minutes into the match, Minho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Dantae came free, but Zeferino Diegues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

60 minutes into the match, Stat Veritas FC's Fernando Dantae sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeferino Diegues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stat Veritas FC's Stian Hestvik was substituted for Wincent Lizewski. Stat Veritas FC's Roger Gili was substituted for Pepe Argento. The Minho FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeferino Diegues should have stopped the shot. Minho FC's Hélder Soveral was substituted for Magno Aparecido. Ciriaco Tanio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeferino Diegues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Stat Veritas FC's Ciriaco Tanio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zeferino Diegues. Zeferino Diegues yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Minho FC made a substitution. Gil Seixas replaced Cláudio Santiago. In the 88th minute, Gil Seixas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Soveral in the 90th minute of play forced Stat Veritas FC's goalkeeper Mauricio Erramun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciriaco Tanio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zeferino Diegues came out and tried to block the shot, but Ciriaco Tanio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 95th minute. The Stat Veritas FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stat Veritas FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
