Sven-Edvin Jansson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Colon Manrique showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zico Zellier in the 11th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Atlético Ourense defense, Angel Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Colon Manrique. The Atlético Ourense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Colon Manrique should have stopped the shot. Colon Manrique was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Sven-Edvin Jansson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sven-Edvin Jansson really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. GuateFortín's Heriberto Correa got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 minutes, Sven-Edvin Jansson made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético Ourense's Colon Manrique tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roberto Trotta made in the 36th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Atlético Ourense's Indartsu Sarro. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Colon Manrique prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Atlético Ourense getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Herberto Palacios hit a great ball. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Euloxu Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Claudio Cerritos in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Atlético Ourense's Leonides Sánchez. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Edvin Jansson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Sven-Edvin Jansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Colon Manrique made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1.
