The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lance Malliouris was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mieszko Siekierka. Lance Malliouris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Fribäck in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute Unikurdos United F.C. were awarded a corner. Ortzi Goxenola went to the cornerflag to take it. Unikurdos United F.C.'s Hever Zapatero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lance Malliouris in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Fribäck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Lance Malliouris made a huge save. Mustafa Ekrem Avşar kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Fribäck in the 15th minute of play forced FC Schonebeck's goalkeeper Lance Malliouris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Unikurdos United F.C. got a corner. FC Schonebeck's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ortzi Goxenola ran over to the corner to take the kick. FC Schonebeck were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Unikurdos United F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paul Some took the corner. Sesuldo Teijelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Persson in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Unikurdos United F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paul Some was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Schonebeck's players had a chance to rest. Anselm Hayer was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Lance Malliouris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Fribäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Fribäck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Lance Malliouris made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Fribäck got free with Lance Malliouris in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Simon Drechsler in the 37th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Unikurdos United F.C.'s Marco Solo. If Daniel Fribäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th minute Daniel Fribäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lance Malliouris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselm Hayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sesuldo Teijelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Fribäck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Fribäck hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Unikurdos United F.C.'s Andoni Viso was substituted for Ortzi Goxenola. Daniel Fribäck kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Lance Malliouris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rojelio Carrera in the 66th minute of play. Hever Zapatero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Malliouris having to interfere. FC Schonebeck made a substitution. Lothar Drinkard replaced Anselm Hayer. If Andoni Viso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute of the match Hever Zapatero shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lance Malliouris showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sesuldo Teijelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt Persson in the 82nd minute. Lance Malliouris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rojelio Carrera in the 84th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Unikurdos United F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Sesuldo Teijelo, was totally fooled by FC Schonebeck's Daniel Sokolski, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 90 minutes into the match, Unikurdos United F.C.'s Andoni Viso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lance Malliouris narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lothar Drinkard in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sesuldo Teijelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Rojelio Carrera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unikurdos United F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rojelio Carrera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lance Malliouris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Unikurdos United F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hever Zapatero in the 98th minute. The Unikurdos United F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 98th match minute when Unikurdos United F.C.'s Andoni Viso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
