The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Gabrielsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Safet Hands. Norrlands Athen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Åke Gabrielsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Måns Sandberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Dumitru Doloman made a huge save. 9 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Kuuno Tälli came free, but Safet Hands reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Måns Sandberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dumitru Doloman having to make a save. Dumitru Doloman made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Måns Sandberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute Mario Jakobe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Safet Hands saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Stig-Arne Deckberg hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Juan Lebron. 38 minutes into the game, Viola Invest's Stig-Åke Gabrielsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Safet Hands made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Måns Sandberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dumitru Doloman could save by the left post. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson in the 46th minute of the match. The Norrlands Athen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Viola Invest were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kuuno Tälli was the one to do the kick off. Dumitru Doloman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Lebron in the 55th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Kuuno Tälli put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Safet Hands. The crowd rose to their feet as Kuuno Tälli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Safet Hands. That made the score 0-4 in the 62 minute of play. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson was substituted for Måns Sandberg. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. Mathias Alrot replaced Urbano Fidencio. Juan Lebron struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Dumitru Doloman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norrlands Athen. The supporters of Norrlands Athen booed when Viola Invest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Jakobe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74thth minute of the game Gilbert Hermansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Su came free, but Safet Hands reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Norrlands Athen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gavril Anghelescu was slow to take the kick. During this time Viola Invest's players had a chance to rest. After 78 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Juan Lebron. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kuuno Tälli in the 79th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Mario Jakobe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Safet Hands. Mario Jakobe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Dumitru Doloman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Lebron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarl Malm hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Viola Invest's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
