In the 13thth minute of the game Diego Belém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fierce's Michaël Grosso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albirex Niigata FC were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Fierce's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Diego Belém took the corner. The corner led Albirex Niigata FC's Mohammad Lee to fire away a dangerous shot which Michaël Grosso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Diego Belém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Albirex Niigata FC fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Albirex Niigata FC's Mohammad Lee looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Belém stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mohammad Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Diego Belém in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Michaël Grosso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 79th minute, Sharizan Chee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Fierce's Michaël Grosso got control of the ball when Mujahid Vijiaratnam tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Albirex Niigata FC's Sharizan Chee in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mujahid Vijiaratnam's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Michaël Grosso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
