Henley Utd's Edvin Jonsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Henley Utd from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Richard Tunström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luc Van Hinnendael was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rasmus Mårtensson in the 18th minute of play forced FC Bruges's goalkeeper Luc Van Hinnendael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rasmus Mårtensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jens-Erik Nykvist kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, FC Bruges was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mac Mon to maneuver through the defense. FC Bruges's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lasse Kroner in the 32nd minute. After taking down the ball on FC Bruges's corner Lasse Kroner fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edvin Jonsson quite easily take care of the ball. Xavies Muñagorri's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edvin Jonsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Edvin Jonsson was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Xavies Muñagorri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Xavies Muñagorri really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 43rd minute, FC Bruges's Xavies Muñagorri dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Edvin Jonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mac Mon in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xavies Muñagorri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edvin Jonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavies Muñagorri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lasse Kroner made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Xavies Muñagorri however managed to control. 55 minutes into the match, Henley Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Mac Mon came free, but Edvin Jonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvin Jonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavies Muñagorri, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Henley Utd's zone, Mac Mon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvin Jonsson came out of the goal and Mac Mon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Bergsten came free, but Luc Van Hinnendael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvin Jonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavies Muñagorri in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes Henley Utd got a freekick which was hit by Richard Tunström. If Joakim Bergsten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joakim Bergsten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Van Hinnendael having to interfere. Luc Van Hinnendael made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Joakim Bergsten sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of FC Bruges booed when Henley Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Tunström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luc Van Hinnendael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joakim Bergsten in the 90th minute of play. Edvin Jonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mac Mon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henley Utd's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
