The coaching staff of Northern Lights protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sezen Hidayet had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Northern Lights fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Northern Lights defense, Hamza Loaëc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Başaran Ötüken. The Northern Lights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Başaran Ötüken should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Devran Delfin was the one to do the kick off. Laurent Cazes charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurent Cazes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. During the 62nd minute of the match Laurent Cazes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Laurent Cazes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Laurent Cazes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to Northern Lights getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Özgün Serbülend hit a great ball. The referee ignored FC Saubrigues's protests and gave Blaise Lestage a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Northern Lights booed when FC Saubrigues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blaise Lestage didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC Saubrigues could leave the field as winners, despite Northern Lights having more of the ball for most of the match.
