After 24 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar de Moraes. The throw-in from Vítor Sampaio in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ZAFIRO FC's Nasko Shukov. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Pero in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes Papunhas EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delmiro Donostia who took care of the corner kick. Marco Pero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ismael Nazario Serre having to make a save. After some careless play in the Papunhas EC defense, Marco Pero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Nazario Serre. The Papunhas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Nazario Serre should have stopped the shot. In the 40th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Prado to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdemar de Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oswaldo Prado during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Pero in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Nazario Serre saved Papunhas EC from getting behind. Delmiro Donostia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Nazario Serre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. ZAFIRO FC's Marco Pero got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ismael Nazario Serre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Pero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Marco Pero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Sampaio. Ismael Nazario Serre was a little too slow when Marco Pero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Ismael Nazario Serre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Pero during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ZAFIRO FC's Marco Pero got a free kick in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ZAFIRO FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
