In the 44th minute Rothem Čulen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Pilkington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match Forest Green got a corner. Abasto FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Despite this Leon Pilkington quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rothem Čulen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Abasto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rothem Čulen came free, but Leon Pilkington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
