The corner led F.C internazionale's Eraldo Pittelli to fire away a dangerous shot which Fausto do Valle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Erkut Cenan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Fausto do Valle made a huge save. If Eraldo Pittelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Cardoso in the 89th minute of play forced F.C internazionale's goalkeeper Lyle Flanagan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Douglas Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. F.C internazionale walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
