Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vitório Lago started the match with the kick off. Isaac Ignazio hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Arnoud de Pelsmakere stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vitório Lago's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Vitório Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffen Gimlinge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eustaquio Mede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steffen Gimlinge in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allan Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 24 minutes, Steffen Gimlinge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Universidad Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steffen Gimlinge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Vitório Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoud de Pelsmakere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Sena to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Steffen Gimlinge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Allan Varela. Palestra do Interior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steffen Gimlinge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Steffen Gimlinge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ernani Velasco hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Club Universidad Nacional were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steffen Gimlinge to strike the kick off in the second half. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Ignazio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eustaquio Mede sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Paulo Godoi replaced Vitório Lago. Reynaldo Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Jorginho Ferreira threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club Universidad Nacional's Ziyäddin Cabbarov quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Arnoud de Pelsmakere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 吴洲坚, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When 吴洲坚 came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 吴洲坚 couldn't finish the play. Club Universidad Nacional's Arnoud de Pelsmakere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 吴洲坚 in the 77th minute of play. Feliciano Frans kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. When Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Universidad Nacional's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela got control of the ball when Feliciano Frans tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyisana Mnisi to maneuver through the defense. Arnoud de Pelsmakere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Godoi in the 87th minute of play. Arnoud de Pelsmakere didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Boyisana Mnisi went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Allan Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Feliciano Frans in the 93rd minute. Arnoud de Pelsmakere stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Godoi's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
