Ksawery Witkowski came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by ionion's Ilie Surugiu. But to his dismay, Ilie Surugiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Magallanes booed when ionion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Moisescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabio Abalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peio Raggio in the 9th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peio Raggio in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Abalos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Magallanes were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after ionion's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Seran Turres took the corner. The supporters of ionion booed when Magallanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marta Calderon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anacleto Dessauer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Fabio Abalos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peio Raggio in the 19th minute of play forced ionion's goalkeeper Fabio Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, ionion's Fabio Abalos got control of the ball when Anacleto Dessauer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anacleto Dessauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Abalos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guille Aravena in the 26th minute. Peio Raggio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Fabio Abalos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 30th minute, Constantin Dragușin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, ionion's goal looked a bit too open when Peio Raggio came free, but Fabio Abalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Magallanes's Peio Raggio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Abalos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marta Calderon made in the 41st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Seran Turres however managed to control. In the 43rd minute Peio Raggio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Abalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Abalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peio Raggio, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The wind increased when Ilie Surugiu made the kick off in the second half. Ksawery Witkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilie Surugiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magallanes's Ksawery Witkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the game, Alejandro Campbell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magallanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ionion the free kick. In the 56th minute, Alejandro Campbell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58thth minute of the game Peio Raggio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ionion's Fabio Abalos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Magallanes's Juan Mondaca was substituted for Peio Raggio. Viorel Neicu kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Magallanes's Ksawery Witkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. Ilie Surugiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Ksawery Witkowski made a huge save. In the 70th minute Seran Turres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Abalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magallanes made a substitution. Christiano Soffia replaced Elpidio Banda. After 75 played minutes ionion got a freekick which was hit by Taner Zübeyr. Eugen Albeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Ilie Surugiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. ionion's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilie Surugiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ksawery Witkowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guille Aravena in the 81st minute of play. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ionion! The referee gave Magallanes a penalty, 87 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Seran Turres, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ionion's Fabio Abalos. 2-1. When Guille Aravena came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guille Aravena couldn't finish the play. Ilie Surugiu's late challenge caught a Magallanes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ilie Surugiu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st match minute, ionion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Surugiu to maneuver through the defense. Taner Zübeyr hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Fabio Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guille Aravena in the 97th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 98 minutes, Juan Mondaca put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fabio Abalos.
