Ola Wall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgiliu Doroftei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christoforos Manousopoulos. Ola Wall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Christoforos Manousopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andréas Linquist. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christoforos Manousopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 32nd minute Christoforos Manousopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andréas Linquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of NIKE Academy booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoforos Manousopoulos got free with Andréas Linquist in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the NIKE Academy defense, Virgiliu Doroftei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ola Wall. The NIKE Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ola Wall should have stopped the shot. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Van Der Taelen in the 44th minute of play. Marco Van Der Taelen kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Virgiliu Doroftei made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Van Der Taelen in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andréas Linquist saved Grêmio FBPA from getting behind. Andréas Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Lägdin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Anton Martinsson in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Grêmio FBPA's Stayko Vakareliyski. The throw-in from Robert Mühren in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Grêmio FBPA's Geovanildo Zago. Andréas Linquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Van Der Taelen in the 62nd minute of the match. Ola Wall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 65th minute of play. Stayko Vakareliyski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ola Wall having to interfere. Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Van Der Taelen in the 69th minute of play. If Marco Van Der Taelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Natã Ramalho. Luiz Paulo Marquez lost his temper 94 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Grêmio FBPA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! In the 95th minute there was a penalty for NIKE Academy. Christoforos Manousopoulos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Andréas Linquist. 2-2. Grêmio FBPA's Serafim Salles was substituted for Stayko Vakareliyski. Grêmio FBPA made a substitution. Armando Obeko replaced Gilberto Thuram. Grêmio FBPA's Gergely Takács was substituted for Virgiliu Doroftei. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
