The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ariel Mourelatos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Gerazan in the 19th minute of the match. Ariel Mourelatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Cambranes in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a corner. Amboy FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luiz Fábio de Medeiros almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Amboy FC's Ariel Mourelatos did a great save. Amboy FC's Ariel Mourelatos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 27th minute of play. Carolo Cambranes scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Mourelatos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Mourelatos saved Amboy FC from getting behind. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Black Dragon, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Amboy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Gerazan came free, but Ariel Mourelatos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Horaţiu Măcrinici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Mourelatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Nova Iguaçu MZFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Héctor-Raul Manenti Fontán to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Davut İskenderoğlu got a free kick in the 51st minute. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Héctor-Raul Manenti Fontán in the 55th minute of play. After 56 minutes, Héctor-Raul Manenti Fontán made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Amboy FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros was slow to take the kick. During this time Nova Iguaçu MZFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Jerônimo Favoretto to fire away a dangerous shot which Ariel Mourelatos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ariel Mourelatos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Favoretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Iguaçu MZFC's zone, Héctor-Raul Manenti Fontán stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mickaël Maris came out of the goal and Héctor-Raul Manenti Fontán tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 87th minute of play forced Amboy FC's goalkeeper Ariel Mourelatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes Amboy FC got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Mendiko. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
