Octavian Jähnigen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 8th minute of the match. Ladislao Gerazan scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octavian Jähnigen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Lam Baril sped through Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mickaël Maris. 17 minutes into the match, Predador Brasiliense MZBR's goal looked a bit too open when Horaţiu Măcrinici came free, but Octavian Jähnigen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Predador Brasiliense MZBR's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Gerazan came free, but Octavian Jähnigen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Horaţiu Măcrinici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Jähnigen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavian Jähnigen came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Ladislao Gerazan. But to his dismay, Ladislao Gerazan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nery Dominguez lost his temper 26 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Caco Matos was substituted for Ladislao Gerazan. Ali Kürşat Aurelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Predador Brasiliense MZBR made a substitution. Jânio Donatello replaced Birger Ståhlman. In the 36th minute of the match, António Sobral tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mickaël Maris saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Octavian Jähnigen came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Carolo Cambranes. But to his dismay, Carolo Cambranes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After 45 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Costa. Mickaël Maris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Sobral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. António Sobral was the one to do the kick off. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lam Baril, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the match, Predador Brasiliense MZBR's goalkeeper Octavian Jähnigen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 54th minute of play forced Predador Brasiliense MZBR's goalkeeper Octavian Jähnigen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mickaël Maris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when António Sobral came free, but Mickaël Maris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Predador Brasiliense MZBR's Octavian Jähnigen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 61st minute of play. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Predador Brasiliense MZBR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros took the corner. After taking down the ball on Nova Iguaçu MZFC's corner Manfredo Vale fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Octavian Jähnigen quite easily take care of the ball. In the 78th minute António Sobral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickaël Maris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lam Baril in the 83rd minute of play. Octavian Jähnigen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horaţiu Măcrinici's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Donatello in the 88th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jerônimo Favoretto hit a great ball. Pedrinho Salgado, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
