Mickaël Maris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carolo Cambranes to maneuver through the defense. Heitor Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Măcrinici stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Florian Capasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mauro-Facundo Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Gerazan, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Heitor Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Merusca F&P - CIMZ booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heitor Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Couto in the 82nd minute of the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Couto in the 92nd minute of play. Rafael Couto spun around in front of the goal 93 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nova Iguaçu MZFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
