But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Tartalo couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the match, Adrián Espadas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mickaël Maris. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrián Espadas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 12 minutes of play, Soroca F.C.'s Gustavo Tartalo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mickaël Maris was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Dan Wennerqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Gerazan. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Tartalo in the 20th minute of the match. Dan Wennerqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Soroca F.C.'s Amador Venceslao in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horaţiu Măcrinici to strike the kick off in the second half. Mickaël Maris was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adrián Espadas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 54 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Iguaçu MZFC's zone, Adrián Espadas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mickaël Maris came out of the goal and Adrián Espadas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Laércio Penha was substituted for Ladislao Gerazan. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Andrézinho Vaz was substituted for Horaţiu Măcrinici. Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula was substituted for Adrián Espadas. When Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Laércio Penha in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio Penha in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Wennerqvist saved Soroca F.C. from getting behind. Dan Wennerqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Wennerqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Penha in the 84th minute of play. Laércio Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Penha in the 88th minute of play forced Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Dan Wennerqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Penha came free, but Dan Wennerqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luiz Fábio de Medeiros in the 93rd minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Luiz Fábio de Medeiros was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dan Wennerqvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Soroca F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Soroca F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
