Evaristo Vargas hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Rowland Deans charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rowland Deans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes Rathose got a freekick which was hit by Rowland Deans. 15 minutes into the game, Evaristo Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amarantina EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rathose the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Amarantina EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Vargas to maneuver through the defense. Blathmac Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the game, Casey Hunt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of José Pedro Damião. Casey Hunt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Casey Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Damião having to interfere. Rowland Deans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Samuel Simão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Amarantina EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Davie McAaron during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 47 minutes into the game, one of Rathose:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Amarantina EC. Jarbas Pombal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Blathmac Savic. 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Téo Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Samuel Simão fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Blathmac Savic, passed just outside the right post. A hard shot 64 in the game by Dalmo de Alcântara from a close distance when the talented Blathmac Savic managed to make a qualified save. Rathose's players were relieved. A collision led to Amarantina EC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Téo Barros hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Casey Hunt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Pedro Damião was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Rowland Deans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amarantina EC's José Pedro Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rowland Deans in the 71st minute of play. Rowland Deans scored 2-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Pedro Damião, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 79th minute Casey Hunt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Hunt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Samuel Simão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Blathmac Savic. The goal made the score 2-4. Samuel Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Blathmac Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 minutes, Rowland Deans made it 3-4 with a short kick to the right side. Amarantina EC's José Pedro Damião tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Blathmac Savic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Amarantina EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
