The audience thought a goal was coming when André Luiz Salgado got free with José Pedro Damião in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amarantina EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when André Luiz Salgado scored to the left of an out of position José Pedro Damião, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Soccer Novice getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. With a little luck, Soccer Novice's Mathias Ceresso got control of the ball when Dalmo de Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dalmo de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mathias Ceresso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play.
