The audience was convinced that Frederik Mülder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Ritchie was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 6th match minute, O rey Iván was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Millan to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Felix Wessel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th match minute, O rey Iván was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Abadie to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes O rey Iván got a freekick which was hit by Benito Dei. Arne Engelaar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Augusto Burni's late challenge caught a Springplank FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Burni helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Augusto Burni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Augusto Burni came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the O rey Iván fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Burni couldn't finish the play. Benito Dei took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gijs Schaap. Gijs Schaap dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Gijs Schaap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Dei in the 28th minute of play. Bruno Ritchie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Engelaar in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Arne Engelaar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Ritchie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berend Walstra charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berend Walstra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Springplank FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Berend Walstra hit a great ball. Gijs Schaap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Txaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th match minute, O rey Iván was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Millan to maneuver through the defense. Springplank FC's Arne Engelaar got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Jonathan Millan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 49 played minutes, Springplank FC's Emil Oosterbaan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Ritchie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Springplank FC reached it.

Frederik Mülder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Bruno Ritchie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Txaran in the 57th minute of play forced Springplank FC's goalkeeper Gijs Schaap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Springplank FC's attentive Berend Walstra managed to snatch the ball when Luisito Abadie made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Frederik Mülder kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. A collision led to Springplank FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Felix Wessel hit a great ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Springplank FC's goalkeeper Gijs Schaap, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Engelaar in the 68th minute of play forced O rey Iván's goalkeeper Bruno Ritchie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Dei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gijs Schaap having to interfere. O rey Iván's Augusto Burni got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gijs Schaap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Txaran in the 76th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 79 minutes into the game, when Emil Oosterbaan put in a rough tackle. The supporters of O rey Iván booed when Springplank FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Oosterbaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Springplank FC's zone, Benito Dei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gijs Schaap came out of the goal and Benito Dei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Dei took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gijs Schaap. Gijs Schaap dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Bruno Ritchie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arne Engelaar, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
