In the 13thth minute of the game Oliver Bierhoff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but America FC's Gildo Furtado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 16th minute of play forced America FC's goalkeeper Gildo Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's Oliver Bierhoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gildo Furtado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, America FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Bierhoff came free, but Gildo Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Bierhoff in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gildo Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver Bierhoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, America FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Bierhoff came free, but Gildo Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yuri Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Cido Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. America FC's Jonas Dracena shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jeremias Moreno but with some difficulty. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when America FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gildo Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Bierhoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Oliver Bierhoff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gildo Furtado was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Radowit Dziuma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Silva in the 72nd minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's Oliver Bierhoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gildo Furtado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ADM Taquaras's Daniel de Godoi was substituted for Cido Cabral. In the 77th minute ADM Taquaras were awarded a corner. Áron Bódog went to the cornerflag to take it. America FC's Gildo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Áron Bódog in the 78th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Radowit Dziuma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ADM Taquaras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radowit Dziuma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. America FC's Gildo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Áron Bódog in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Oliver Bierhoff made a precise shot to the right of Gildo Furtado. America FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the America FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ADM Taquaras.
