The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Johannes Kruuse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anders Lundqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loco Durazno, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Golden Lions FC's attentive Igor Dzierwa managed to snatch the ball when Nildo Rosa made a throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johannes Kruuse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Golden Lions FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Golden Lions FC.
