But to his dismay, Fernando Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tarık İnanç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie Gerrard in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Bornova's goalkeeper Tarık İnanç had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Flor. In the 12th minute Red Bull Crystallis were awarded a corner. Gualterio Castulo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 13th minute, Fernando Dracena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Bastia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Bornova's Tarık İnanç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Gerrard in the 16th minute of play. If Çağlar Acabey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Dracena scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Bastia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 31 played minutes Stevie Gerrard rounded Bornova's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. The supporters of Red Bull Crystallis booed when Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yusuf Bahadır Rahmet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tarık İnanç was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Gualterio Castulo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gualterio Castulo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Lucas Bastia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Dracena in the 41st minute of play. Tarık İnanç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Bodin, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute Stevie Gerrard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarık İnanç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Fernando Dracena came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Bornova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Dracena couldn't finish the play. In the 65thth minute of the game Rene Flor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bornova's Tarık İnanç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevie Gerrard in the 76th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Tarık İnanç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Red Bull Crystallis getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Gualterio Castulo hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes Bornova got a freekick which was hit by 严桦泉. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevie Gerrard in the 84th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Tarık İnanç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bornova booed when Red Bull Crystallis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualterio Castulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 严桦泉 charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed 严桦泉 the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bornova had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
