Guga Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Elias Siqueira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares. Guga Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Claus Ostwald hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Elias Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elias Siqueira came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Angelsø kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Jan-Joost Grootjans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal de Gols F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Joost Grootjans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guga Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel de Lara in the 29th minute of play forced Arsenal de Gols F.C's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Siqueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guga Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elias Siqueira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute Elias Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elias Siqueira came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Elias Siqueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guga Tavares. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guga Tavares should have stopped the shot. Arsenal de Gols F.C's Elias Siqueira got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Arvin Larsson got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, Elias Siqueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guga Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Guga Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias Siqueira's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. When Arsenal de Gols F.C's Elias Siqueira in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexilhão F. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Elias Siqueira made the kick off in the second half. Guga Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Arsenal de Gols F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Lara came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Elias Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arsenal de Gols F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Siqueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guga Tavares was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Elias Siqueira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elias Siqueira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. 68 minutes into the match, Arsenal de Gols F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Romero came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias Siqueira took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guga Tavares. Guga Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Arsenal de Gols F.C's Raimundo Alvarenga was substituted for Elias Siqueira. Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Alvarenga in the 75th minute of play. Betão Duarte came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Guga Tavares could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Arsenal de Gols F.C's Raimundo Alvarenga got a free kick in the 78th minute. Marcelo Gröhe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Romero in the 88th minute of play forced Arsenal de Gols F.C's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mexilhão F. C.'s zone, Raimundo Alvarenga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Tavares came out of the goal and Raimundo Alvarenga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Arsenal de Gols F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
