That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. 9 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's Chiquito Rico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yakov Artsybashev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 10 minutes Малая Охта's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulo Fallabes who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Monitor Huáscar's corner Paulo Fallabes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yakov Artsybashev quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquito Rico in the 15th minute of play forced Малая Охта's goalkeeper Yakov Artsybashev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yakov Artsybashev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardinho Bala in the 17th minute. The supporters of Monitor Huáscar booed when Малая Охта was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedor Kartashev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pahom Vyazemskiy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Apostol Sokolov having to make a save. Chiquito Rico might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yakov Artsybashev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chiquito Rico ran back to his position shaking his head. 34 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's Chiquito Rico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yakov Artsybashev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardinho Bala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yakov Artsybashev having to interfere. Fedor Kartashev made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nikolay Pavlyuchenko however managed to control. Apostol Sokolov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petr Ustinov in the 40th minute of play. Chiquito Rico might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yakov Artsybashev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chiquito Rico ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the game, Chiquito Rico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Yakov Artsybashev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiquito Rico was the one to do the kick off. When Chiquito Rico came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Monitor Huáscar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chiquito Rico couldn't finish the play. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Artemio Varas replaced Bernardinho Bala. Fedor Kartashev made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Petr Ustinov however managed to control. If Chiquito Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Milian Lopez replaced Johnny Nyström. The audience was convinced that Chiquito Rico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yakov Artsybashev was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Chiquito Rico took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yakov Artsybashev. Yakov Artsybashev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Tom Bom replaced Carlos Galván. Малая Охта made a substitution. Ilya Bianki replaced Gennadiy Golubchenko. In the 90th minute, Chiquito Rico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monitor Huáscar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Yakov Artsybashev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquito Rico in the 96th minute of the match.
