Válbson de Alcântara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Dorival Freire when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Motta Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Premier FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dudu Hermes took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Artur Sabóia heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Motta Futebol Clube's Otávio Maranhense was substituted for Dudu Hermes. Aírton de Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Duda Velloso in the 72nd minute.
