In the 15thth minute of the game 詹俊 á Bø who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's 詹俊 á Bø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hipolito Fritz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Wellington Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Vykan Víkingsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Gonzalez in the 27th minute. Gabriel Magalhães was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Wellington Phoenix's Gabriel Magalhães got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gabriel Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Remo Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Vykan Víkingsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristopher Damian in the 39th minute. The supporters of Wellington Phoenix booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Barco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hipolito Fritz made an important save on a dangerous shot by 詹俊 á Bø in the 55th minute. The throw-in from Álvaro Barco in the 62nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Wellington Phoenix's Remo Carvalho. Vladimir Couto hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Vykan Víkingsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristopher Damian, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Vykan Víkingsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Gonzalez in the 68th minute of the match. After 69 minutes, Tobías Jarpa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Chile and the Wellington Phoenix players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Tobías Jarpa. Jaume Roure took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hipolito Fritz. U21 Chile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's Cristopher Damian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vykan Víkingsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Mark Gonzalez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vykan Víkingsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. With a little luck, U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz got control of the ball when 詹俊 á Bø tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hipolito Fritz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when 詹俊 á Bø sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when 詹俊 á Bø got free with Hipolito Fritz in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by 詹俊 á Bø in the 83rd minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Hipolito Fritz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wellington Phoenix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mark Gonzalez was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Chile's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Mark Gonzalez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Wellington Phoenix's Vykan Víkingsson did a great save. After 88 minutes of play, Wellington Phoenix's 詹俊 á Bø made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hipolito Fritz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vykan Víkingsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher Damian in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chupan Hoyo to maneuver through the defense. Hipolito Fritz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jaume Roure.
