The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lucius Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Söderquist in the 7th minute of play. Nordic Union were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Lugano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ivar Billock took the corner. Nordic Union's Ivar Billock was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lucius Berger in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 11 minutes into the match, Nordic Union's Tao Shi Fan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucius Berger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Ivar Billock got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lucius Berger quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ivar Billock scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucius Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucius Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Billock, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a little luck, Nordic Union's Simon Ekman got control of the ball when Bruno Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Billock in the 20th minute of play forced Lugano's goalkeeper Lucius Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Tao Shi Fan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lugano's Lucius Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Simon Ekman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kai Kamarche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucius Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tao Shi Fan's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute Tao Shi Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucius Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ivar Billock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucius Berger was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Ivar Billock struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Lucius Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nordic Union. The referee gave Nordic Union a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ivar Billock, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lugano's Lucius Berger. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tao Shi Fan to strike the kick off in the second half. Nordic Union's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivar Billock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was a well-played corner which Mariusz Prusinowski managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When Fredrik Söderquist came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Nordic Union fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredrik Söderquist couldn't finish the play. When Nordic Union's Tao Shi Fan in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lugano's goalie prevented a goal. In the 83rd minute, Nordic Union's Ivar Billock dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Kai Kamarche hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Lugano's Lucius Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tao Shi Fan in the 91st minute of play.
