Christopher Reimann made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Virgiliu Doroftei sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jâninho Melo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Antonio Bertrand in the 11th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andréas Linquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Antonio Bertrand in the 20th minute of the match. Andréas Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Antonio Bertrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Antonio Bertrand struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Andréas Linquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eregli SK. Christopher Reimann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 29th minute of play. Eregli SK's Christopher Reimann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 31st minute of play. Virgiliu Doroftei took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christopher Reimann. Christopher Reimann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Christopher Reimann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 40th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Eregli SK made a substitution. Ali Çağrı Tuğtaşı replaced Ahmet Emir Sarik. Eregli SK's Adil Uluerkan was substituted for Yusuf İmren. Andréas Linquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasko Zagorchev in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Slawomir Cisek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Eregli SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slawomir Cisek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio FBPA from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Antonio Bertrand came free, but Andréas Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Slawomir Cisek made in the 68th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Barışcan Akova immediately put the ball in play. Daniel Portillo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute of the match Peiter Mora sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andréas Linquist skillfully saved the ball. Antony Lanoy kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vasko Zagorchev. Andréas Linquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasko Zagorchev in the 78th minute. Christopher Reimann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 84th minute of the match. Grêmio FBPA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stayko Vakareliyski in the 85th minute. It was a well-played corner which Luiz Paulo Marquez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 88 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Virgiliu Doroftei. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Décio Negri got a free kick in the 89th minute. Andréas Linquist was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Peiter Mora. In the 92nd minute of the game Slawomir Cisek made a throw-in which Barışcan Akova played forward.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Eregli SK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grêmio FBPA.
