In the 7thth minute of the game Xurdin Pena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goianésia E.C's Norbert Balonek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Goianésia E.C's Norbert Balonek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Goianésia E.C from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Everett Gerber got free with Norbert Balonek in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norbert Balonek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everett Gerber's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Penha in the 15th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Goianésia E.C got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano de Sousa. After 20 minutes of play, Goianésia E.C's Fred Penha made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrea Perez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Melandru de Cenero's Andrea Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Penha in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Goianésia E.C's Norbert Balonek got control of the ball when Xurdin Pena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norbert Balonek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xurdin Pena in the 30th minute. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fred Penha to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fabiano de Sousa hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes Goianésia E.C got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Maranhense. Norbert Balonek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Everett Gerber in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Xurdin Pena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Melandru de Cenero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. After some careless play in the Goianésia E.C defense, Everett Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Balonek. The Goianésia E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Balonek should have stopped the shot. When Melandru de Cenero's Xurdin Pena in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goianésia E.C's goalie prevented a goal. Dorian Aparecido hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match.
