John Osomo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Westerstrand in the 6th minute of the match. Ademar Rodrigues's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Mao Zhen Hong skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Academia Monte Gordo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Örjan Björkdahl scored to the left of an out of position Mao Zhen Hong, making the score, 1-0. In the 22nd minute Örjan Björkdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademar Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Mao Zhen Hong made a huge save. The supporters of Academia Monte Gordo booed when PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Lustosa in the 42nd minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper John Osomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Academia Monte Gordo getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Fabrício Lustosa hit a great ball. In the 47th minute of the match, Ademar Rodrigues got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mao Zhen Hong was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Örjan Björkdahl made a kick off. Rodrigo Mafra hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
